Thank you to everyone who came out to our Independent Retailer Conference. The event enjoyed record-breaking sales and attendance!
One of the many highlights was the Excellence Awards Dinner, where Bozzuto's took the opportunity to recognize retailers and suppliers who went above and beyond, exemplifying true leadership in the industry. To account for efforts on different sales levels, two categories - Channel I and Channel II - were created for the Retailer of the Year award. The coveted Retailer of the Year - Channel II was won by Richard & Jeannette Schmidt at Elmer’s IGA and William Chanatry at Chanatry’s Hometown Market took home the Retailer of the Year - Channel I. Acosta was awarded Broker of the Year, a Bozzuto’s first-time award. Bozzuto’s inaugurated the Broker of the Year award to honor the brokers who excel in understanding and embracing the role of the wholesaler in today’s environment, recognize the need for an efficient supply chain and who understand and support the family owned and operated supermarket model. Those are all key areas where Acosta excelled; therefore, they were well-deserving of the most recent accolade. For a full list of Excellence Awards winners, click here.
Be prepared to celebrate our 20th food show! The upcoming two-day fall selling event - Merchandising Marketplace held August 7-8, 2012, at the MGM Grand at Foxwoods in Ledyard, Connecticut. An exciting, jam-packed agenda filled with alluring programs is planned for our retailers over the course of the two days. Two full trade show floors filled with new product, promos and deals waiting to be discovered!
